Production after client confirmation

Design and Layout Preparation
1
  • Digital Design Finalization: The approved design is digitized and scaled to the rug’s actual size
  • Stencilling: The full-scale design is printed or hand-drawn onto a backing cloth (canvas) that will serve as the guide for tufting
Material Preparation
2
  • Yarn selection: Based on the client’s choice (e.g wool, viscose etc) the appropriate yarns are sourced.
  • Colour Dyeing: Yarns are dyed in precise shades according to the design. This is done in controlled dye baths to ensure uniformity.
  • Drying: The dyed yarns are air-dried or oven-dried to lock in the colors.
Hand Tufting
3
  • Tufting frame setup: The backing cloth is stretched tightly over a large frame.
  • Tufting process: Skilled artisans use a hand tufting gun to punch yarn into the backing cloth, flowing the design outline.
  1. Loop or cut pile techniques are applied based on the texture required in the design.
  2. Each section of the design is carefully tufted, ensuring precise colour placement and density.
Latex Backing Application
4
  • Stabilization: Once tufting is complete, a layer of latex is applied to the back of the rug to anchor they yarns in place.
  • Reinforcement: Additional backing material, such as cotton or canvas, is affixed to provide stability and durability.
Trimming and Sculpting
5
  • Surface finishing: the pile is trimmed to ensure an even height across the rug
  • Carving: For detailed designs, artisans hand-carve or sculpt the surface to create depth and accentuate patterns.
